Saguaro National Park, Arizona. Saguaro National Park is an outstanding place to experience and explore the Sonoran Desert in Arizona. Visitors can enjoy the Park in a variety of ways. There are scenic drives, hiking trails, horseback riding trails, plus biking and backcountry camping opportunities.

As you plan your visit to Saguaro National Park, you will notice it contains two districts. East of the city of Tucson is the Rincon Mountain District. This part of the Park features high elevations and many trails. You can obtain maps and information about spending time in the Rincon Mountain District at the Saguaro East Visitor’s Center.

The western district of Saguaro National park is located to the west of Tucson. This district is known as the Tucson Mountain District, and it is lower in elevation than the Park’s eastern district. It also features a much denser saguaro forest.

You can find out more about the unique plants and animals that inhabit Saguaro National Park and the Sonoran Desert at either of the district’s Visitors Centers.
