Located 98 miles northeast of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, Paris, Texas, is the county seat of Lamar County. Though it’s filled with modern amenities, Paris real estate also offers a large historical district. The Lamar County Historical Museum and many stately homes are located in this preserved neighborhood, including the Rufus Fenner Scott Mansion, Sam Bell Maxey House and William Belford Wise home, all of which are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Bywaters, the town’s most popular park, is situated at the heart of the historic district and is the home of Paris Municipal Band’s summer concerts, spring and summer weddings and the Paris Winter Wonderland.

Local outdoor attractions include Lake Crook, the Paris Aquatic Center, the skate park, a farmers’ market, several parks and the Trail de Paris, a 3-mile, all-season trail for running, jogging, skating and biking. Area residents also enjoy the classes and amenities offered by Paris Junior College and the Love Civic Center. And you can find world-class health care at the Paris Regional Medical Center.
