Some believe that because one is disease free then that person is healthy. The fact is, health is actually a total state of having optimum physical and mental wellness. Being healthy means not getting home from work and plopping down on the couch, completely drained of energy. Health and well-being means you possess enough energy to really get the most out of your free time and not just be a couch potato. A healthy person looks forward to the aging process, instead of being concerned about disease.
You are more concerned about your health than anyone else. You, yourself must be the ultimate person responsible for your health. Most importantly get all the micronutrients you need.
Micronutrients are identified as necessary nutrients that are an obligation for survival, but only in diminuative quantities. Micronutrients are commonly found in vitamins and minerals that are necessary dietary additions in small amounts to balance metabolism and ward of deficiency diseases.
Several studies that were reviewed in articles published between 1966 and 2002 on the Journal of the American Medical Association show that many people do not display signs that they suffer from vitamin deficiency, such as scurvy. Most people have some form of vitamin deficiency,due to lack of intake.
