Chef Coat And Chef Clothes Make For A Good Halloween Costume

Last Halloween, my friend Nick, walked out of his bathroom to proudly show me his Halloween costume . Chef Clothes completely covered him . He even wore a Chef Jacket and a Chef Clothing. When he asked me what I thought, I said, “All that Chef Hat isn’t a costume, Nick. You work in a restaurant, you are a chef and that is not a costume, it’s your uniform .”
“In fact ,” he said, “This is the Head Chef’s uniform, I am only a sou chef .”
“ Is there supposed to be a difference?” I replied .
“ Yeah,” he snorted . “The head chef is the head chef and the sou chef is sort of the manager, if you will, of the kitchen.”
“The normal person would not know who was what ,” I asked. ‘ Everyone’s just going to assume you’re a chef and a chef’s a chef.”
“Whatever. How is your costume any better than mine? ” he asked, wiping the lintoff the arms of his Chef jacket.
“Is it not apparent ?” I said. “I’m a minister .”
I wore black from head to foot and had even put on a collared shirt. It’s tremendously rare for anyone to see me in a collared shirt . If I button it up all the way, I feel like it’s choking me. If I wear it for too long, it starts feeling too tight and constricting like I’m caught in a straitjacket. Don’t get me wrong, I have had an office position before, but none that have caught my liking. Now they have work shirts that do not have collars. There have been a few casual offices where they didn’t mind if I felt like wearing a t-shirt and jeans. But, anyway, I am deviating from the point , which I have been inclined to do a lot more frequently lately . Maybe it’s because few people listen so I figure the more I talk, the better chance I have of being heard . And I am on a tangent again . Back to my story.
I slipped my hand into my pocket and retrieved my minister collar . Then I snapped it around my shirt collar. It had taken me weeks to find a priest’s collar. I looked through a handful of old clothing stores, second hand shops , and other varieties of stores that sold Chef Apparel like that. Also , I looked online as well, but I kept wondering if I could get a respectable looking ministers collar for less than the 60 pounds it was [spni] advertised | promoted [/spin] for at every store and online .
Finally, I was drifting in and out of a few costume shops and just happened to stumble past a ministers collar for 15 dollars. It wasn’t authentic and in fact looked really ragged , but it was the best deal I was going to get and I doubted anyone would really be able to tell the difference.
When I finally showed Nick the final outcome he shook his head at me .
“ That’s not a real priest’s collar,” he said. “ Why are you giving me grief? Not one personal will believe that you are dressed up like a minister, they will think that you are just all dressed in black . Everyone will think that I’m actually a chef though thanks to all this Chef Clothes I took on loan from work.”
“ But you are a chef!” I exclaimed .
“ I told you I’m a sou chef!” Nick said. “ And my costume is that of a head chef!”
I stared at him incessantly .
“Not one person have the ability to tell the dissimilarity ,” I replied .
“Between you and a real minister or do you mean between a head chef costume and a sou chef costume?” Nick asked.
“ Both of them!” I bellowed.
