Combination Therapies For Acne
Wednesday, October 1st, 2008 by wwwDermatologists do not always use just one treatment for acne at a time. There are many instances where combinations of therapies are tried together. While little study has been done to prove the effectiveness of these treatments, there has been plenty of success with them in clinics across the country.
Combination Therapies for Acne
Your doctor may suggest combination therapy if you have more than one type of acne. Different medications work best for different types of acne, so the thinking is that if both are used, the results will be better over all.
You also might be prescribed combination therapy if other treatments have failed. It is a method that attacks the problem from two or more fronts. This gives your skin a chance to clear up and heal.
You may have blackheads and whiteheads, and you also have inflammatory acne lesions. If you do, your doctor may suggest a regimen of 5% benzoyl peroxide and 3% erythromycin. You have to mix the gel and powder together because they come separately.
Then, you put the combination of the benzoyl peroxide and erythromycin on your acne twice daily. When you are not using it, it goes in the refrigerator. This combination therapy is more effective than either medication alone.
Another combination medication comes premixed. It is a mixture of 1% clindamycin and 5% benzoyl peroxide. It is a highly effective medication for both non-inflammatory and inflammatory acne. However, it is taking a long time to become available to be prescribed.
If you have both non-inflammatory and inflammatory acne lesions, you may be asked to try another type of treatment. Tretinoin, adapalene, or azelaic acid are among the agents that can be combined with benzoyl peroxide. They can be mixed with a topical antibiotic instead for another option.
If you use tretinoin and clindamycin, you will experience less soreness and tenderness than you would if you just took the tretinoin. Your dermatologist may have another trick up her sleeve. More on Acne Solution.

Skin Acne Treatment - How To Solve Acne Problems
Wednesday, September 24th, 2008 by wwwOne of the biggest skin care concerns today is acne. In fact, finding an acne skin care treatment is a top priority for teens and adults alike.
Although there are a few lucky ones, virtually all teenagers have to deal with zits, blackheads and other skin blemishes at some point during their lives. Some have it worse than others. I can remember being a teen and trying a number of acne skin treatment products to clear up my face. Some of them worked really well and others didn’t do a thing. Finally figuring out how to get rid of pimples was incredibly empowering.
It wasn’t so easy for some of the other kids, though. A few of them had their parents take them to a doctor for advice and treatment. Sometimes with prescription acne medications they were able to successfully control their acne. Most of the time, however, they still had quite a time of it. Although the prescribed treatments would usually help, they didn’t always provide the cure these teens were so desperately hoping for.
Acne Scarring Is A Real Threat To Chronic Sufferers
While some of these kids grew out of their acne problems, others continued to struggle. And unfortunately, in cases of severe and chronic acne, scars are often left behind long after the zits are cleared up. Acne scarring is often a constant reminder of the skin troubles faced during youth.
One of the best ways to avoid this hurtful scarring is to get a handle on acne as soon as possible. And, as already discussed, it is easier for some than for others. However, some folks have found that conventional treatments aren’t always the best way to handle a problem. Learning how to get rid of pimples naturally has proven to be highly effective for a growing number of sufferers.
Approaching acne care treatment holistically has proven a smart move for these former sufferers. And it makes sense if you think about it. After all, few can argue with the fact that our outward appearance is merely a reflection of what’s going on inside our body. A variation on the old saying ‘you are what you eat’, anything and everything you put into your body has an effect on the ultimate appearance of your skin.
Now, it’s not always fair because there are certain people who can eat any type of food and it never shows up on their skin. It’s the same way with weight gain, isn’t it? The fact is, some people are more sensitive to some factors than others. But, by treating acne at the root cause in a natural way, more teens and adults can enjoy clear, healthy skin and prevent future scarring at the same time.

Proven Acne Facts To Kill Acne Breakouts
Tuesday, September 23rd, 2008 by wwwSince before the word teenager existed in our modern language acne has been the terror of many a teenager, and, a subject avoided in conversation. People who have suffered with acne have been aggressively tormented and ridiculed, and horrifically labeled with nicknames such as crater face. Only those who have sadly suffered from acne can empathize how heartlessly cruel such name throwing can actually be. Over the last few decades exciting enigmas have been unraveled in the symptoms and causes of acne which have also aided the creation of effective treatments.
Acne is the name of an inflammatory disease of the skin often found in teenagers. Acne displays itself in the production of excess oil from sebaceous glands in the hair follicles which alarmingly become blocked. It can cause a malfunction in the follicles and pores in the skin on the face, arms and back but also including that of the chest. The blocked pores and follicles are medically termed comedo.
The comedone are the the plugs which block the pores which is a substance consisisting of keratin and sebum. A comedo is referred to as being closed or open. An open comedo is what we commonly refer to as a ‘blackhead’, and the closed comedo is what we commonly refer to as a ‘whitehead’.
Once a comedone has formed it is usually followed by the most highly visible and unpleasant symptom of acne - spots. First the comedone becomes infected and with this comes redness and inflammation in the skin, which then leads to an outbreak of spots. The spots frequently become filled with pus and the skin surrounding the zit looks very red and is sore to the touch.
There are two types of bacteria responsible for the infectiona and inflammation in acne, these are called Staphylococcus epidermidis and Propionibacterium acnes and Staphylococcus epidermidis. As well as being responsible for the formation of pus filled pimples, acne abcesses and cysts can develop.
Even though Scientists have made incredible moves forward in the knowledge of those processes involved in the creation of, and the control of, acne. Upsetingly there has been little advancement in the knowledge of the reasons for the development of acne. Today, it is generally accepted thata selection of things, such as hormones, diet and stress can all play a part in the role of acne development.
There are scientists that are researching the fact that our genes may be a factor in acne also. In the long term we will all benefit from this ongoing interest in acne as it should continue to provide more effective acne treatments. Hopefully, over the next few decades there will be plenty of acne cures and treatments created and it is also hoped that these will be effective acne treatments.

Acne Laser Treatment For Acne And Acne Scarring
Saturday, September 20th, 2008 by wwwAcne is a common skin condition that targets teenagers and adults. Almost 100% of teenagers will have at least one acne breakout between ages 12 and 17. Some experience minimal acne during the teen years but develop moderate to severe acne in their 20s and 30s. Acne has many causes. Among them are heredity, hormonal changes, diet, and stress. Due the external and internal trauma that acne causes, there are hundreds of options to choose to treat acne. Depending on the type and severity of acne, those prone to this skin condition can find a treatment regimen that works. Daily cleansing routines, managing stress, and maintaining a healthy diet that includes drinking adequate amounts of water are all basic ways to control acne. For resistant acne, a dermatologist may need to be consulted. Severe cases may require topical or oral prescription treatments, a stricter skincare regimen, or cosmetic procedures to reduce acne. The focus of this article is acne laser treatment. There are a number of laser cosmetic procedures that have been effective in treating both acne and acne scarring.
Types of Acne Laser Treatment
A laser device creates a specific light or sound frequency by affecting atoms and molecules of light. The uniform light created by specific lasers can affect the skin by creating warmth which dries up acne pimples or by killing bacteria via a specific light or sound frequency. Acne laser treatment has been perfected so that acne sufferers of all skin colors and ethnicities can receive treatment with little to no skin discoloration. There are a multitude of lasers to choose from depending on the desired outcome. Dermatologists and/or cosmetic surgeons can perform acne laser treatment in their offices and some may require subsequent treatment. A few examples are as follows:
Acne Laser Treatment for Acne and Acne Scarring
Fraxel laser or Photo-rejuvenation- uses light to penetrate the skin and increase collagen production. Improves acne scarring, reduces wrinkles, and fades age spots and other skin discolorations. Requires 3-5 treatments spread a month apart.
Erbium Yag laser, or Co2 laser- removes the top layer of skin and uses heat and carbon dioxide to tighten skin while reducing wrinkles and appearance of acne scars. This laser is highly invasive and treatment requires a long recovery period. It is used mainly in conjunction with face lifts.
Acne Laser Treatment
Vbeam, or Pulsed dye laser- uses tiny pulses of light to remove redness associated with red acne scars, Rosacea, broken capillaries, spider veins, and stretch marks. More on Acne Resources.

Five Simple Tips To Get Rid Of Back Acne
Friday, September 19th, 2008 by wwwBack acne is a very embarrassing, yet very common, problem. Many people just think about facial acne, only to have back acne sneak up behind them. If you are looking for a way to get rid of back acne these five tips will help you clear up back acne right away.
1. Avoid bags with shoulder straps or purses. This can create severe irritation that leads to pimples on your back.
2. Stay away from tight clothes since these cause you to sweat more. When your sweat is caught under tight clothes it causes your pores to be clogged, which is the beginning stage of back acne. Try to wear light, breathable, clothing whenever you can.
3. Exfoliating is important as it will get rid of the excess dead skin cells that are a main culprit of back acne. When you are trying to remove back acne fast you must not ignore these dead skin cells. Most people only worry about sweat, but it is the dead skin cells that mix with the sweat to clog the pores. Find a good exfoliating scrub and use it gently two times a week.
4. Never pop pimples on your back. You do not want to pick at the acne as it can cause your problem to become much worse. It only serves to spread the acne causing bacteria, and leads to gross scars.
5. Keep the area as clean as possible, without over doing it. You should gently wash the area twice daily. Any more than this and you will trick the sebaceous gland into thinking it’s not producing enough oil, which will only make your acne worse.
Many people ignore these basic tips when they try to get rid of back acne fast. When it comes to acne it is the small things that will show big results. Follow these simple tips and you will be on your way to clear up back acne in no time.

Acne Alternative Treatment
Friday, September 19th, 2008 by wwwTanning Booths: A Questionable Form of Acne Alternative Treatment
As a teenage girl, puberty is high on the list of things that cause stress. Stress and changing hormones cause acne. Some teenagers are lucky and get through puberty with only a few blemishes at most. Others suffer with acne that is practically disfiguring. So, many teenagers are trying to avoid acne and the regular creams by using tanning booths as their method of acne alternative treatment.
Tans Hiding Blemishes
It is funny to think that only a hundred years ago it was highly unfashionable to have a tan. Pale skin was the way to go for women, and they would hide their skin behind layers of clothing, hats, and parasols. However, with Coco Chanel making the tan fashionable, tans have become stylish and now too a popular acne alternative treatment.
Acne Alternative Treatment
This acne alternative treatment has a basis in, surprisingly, science. When exposed to sunlight, the melanin in the skin triggers the color that results in a tan. The melanin production cancels out (albeit only for a short while) the oil glands that cause acne. Any scars that have been caused by acne seem to disappear beneath a dark tan.
It might seem to many that this acne alternative treatment is too good to be true, and indeed it is. A tan might look good, but repeated exposure to the UV rays in a tanning booth results in problems far greater than using it just as an acne alternative treatment.
For example, a teenager who decides to tan all the time will get far more than a tan, she will get an orange complexion. Basically, a tan is a sign of damaged epidermal layers. Too many teens decide that the darker their tan, the better their chances of not having their acne come back. The reality is that the acne is still there, and just waiting.
Acne Treatment
Sometimes the acne is so severe that not even a tan can hide it. A frustrated teenager who decides, after a long period of tanning, that she wants to stop tanning might find increased pigmentation (a lot of freckles or moles), puffiness (especially in the eye area) wrinkles, and perhaps even skin cancer.
So, keeping all of this in mind, it is safe to say that using tanning beds is not only an unsuccessful way to combat acne, but it is also a method that can have long-term damaging consequences. Thus, a teen should go see a dermatologist to get acne-free skin. More about Acne Treatment Resources.

If you are not familiar with the subject of acne diets, it pertains to what you consume and how it affects your skin. Some year ago I was sitting in the doctor’s office with my wife. She was there for a back pain assessment. I had severely chapped lips at the time and asked her if she had some lip balm in her purse. The doctor looked at me with a smirk and said, “You know, the condition of your lips actually relates to your diet.” Huh? She informed me that consuming the proper nutrients and fluids on a regular basis would prevent my lips from being chapped.
However, these days I have adopted a more nutritious diet and refrain from using lip balm. What do you know; I never have chapped lips anymore. This concept also applies to our skin. Did you know that the food you eat excretes back through your pores? Well, substances from them do anyway. This gives whole new meaning to the phrase, you are what you eat. Simple And Helpful Homemade Acne Treatments That Normally Enhance Your Face
Thursday, September 11th, 2008 by wwwSkin care doesn’t have to be expensive for the reduction of wrinkles, to carry a great scent, and to look great. In fact - homemade acne treatments can be just as effective as popular store brands to keep your skin clear. As organic and all-natural products are increasing in popularity, more people are realizing they can recreate the same blends for much less in their own homes.
So, keep reading for some great acne remedies and skin care solutions that you can find right at home.
Lemon Juice
Lemon is a natural astringent and cleanser. Fresh lemon juice applied moderately to a pimple will dry it up overnight. It’s natural and simple.
Simply squeeze a bit of lemon on to a Q-tip or cotton ball and apply a small amount directly on the trouble spot. Avoid using too much lemon juice or applying it to areas unaffected as it can quickly dry up your skin.
Working with Witch Hazel
Witch hazel can be found for less than $5 in most drug stores and is a common ingredient in many toners and skin refreshers. If it’s not already diluted with water, simply dilute it and apply it after cleansing, just like a toner.
Oatmeal
There’s a reason most natural skin care manufacturers make an oatmeal scrub - it cleanses the skin, sloughs off dead skin cells and dramatically reduces blackheads. To make an oatmeal scrub, simply mix oatmeal and water to a paste. Then, scrub gently and rinse off with water. Use the scrub a few times a week.
Toner from Apple Cider Vinegar
Great for oily skin, apple cider vinegar is a fantastic skin toner that improves skin color, evens out tone, cuts down on blackheads and even tightens pores. Before you use it, try diluting it with 50% water.
Toothpaste Pimple Remedy
Like lemon juice, a spot of toothpaste is a great way to dramatically reduce the appearance of a single pimple. While it’s not the perfect solution for a widespread acne problem, it can work wonders on that single zit that popped up on your chin the day before a big date or meeting. Simply apply a very small dab of paste right on the pimple before bed. In the morning, you’ll find it significantly smaller or completely gone.
Mask from Egg White
Take the white of one egg and mix it with a few drops of lemon juice, a teaspoon of honey and add a few broken capsules of vitamin E. Once it’s mixed, apply the mixture over your entire face, avoiding the mouth and eyes. Allow it to dry for 10 to 15 minutes and then peel off and rinse. Your face will feel tighter, fresher and more toned.
Remember, skin care doesn’t have to be expensive, and homemade acne treatments are a great way to stay natural, especially if you use organic ingredients.

Reverse Mobile Phone Number Lookup Directory Tips
Monday, September 1st, 2008 by wwwFor many, few know of the tactics used to conduct a free reverse mobile phone number directory; note that a plethora of these numbers are available in lookup directories over the Internet. The internet has certainly made it easy to check on any telephone number and determine who it truly belongs to.
In earlier times, the only tool available for telephone number trace was the telephone book. Even then, though, few people knew how to do a reverse search. This process allows internet users find owner data by using phone numbers. Private detectives and police are usually the ones who had access to this info. Today it’s a different world. Anybody with correct data may access reverse mobile phone number lookup directories and then track mobile phone numbers. So, here are the different ways to do a free reverse mobile phone number directory lookup via internet sites.
If you have internet access, you can use a search engine to find the owner of a mobile number. Simply go to a search engine such as Google, Yahoo or MSN. You can then search for the number by typing in the exact number and clicking search.
If the number you are looking for is anywhere on the internet, you could search for the number on a search engine. If you discover the web site, you can see if there is any personal information associated with it. The problem with this is that many numbers are not listed on web pages because of privacy rules. You may not be able to find what you are looking for using this technique.
Another is method is to employ any friends, family or associates who may have an inside connection to a reverse directory search service. Simply provide your partner the number of interest and request that he or she identify its owner. Those who work for police departments, telephone companies, private investigation services and the like typically have enhanced access to the information you seek. However, any such individuals may refuse to perform the search for you.
The most popular and easiest method for finding the owner of a phone number is to perform a reverse telephone directory search. There are numerous web sites available offering this service either for free, or for a fee.
This system works just like a regular search engine. Simply enter the phone number is the search area. They system will search for a match to the number and the answers will be displayed almost instantaneously. The great thing about reverse search web sites is that there is only a membership fee. Once this fee is paid, everything else you do on the site is free.
